2009-10-12: AFAV News Release
The Anti-Fluoridation Association of Victoria now has two websites.
The second, www.fluoridefreemurray.org has been constructed as a resource for all the communities along the Murray River that are threatened with the fluoridation/poisoning of their water supplies. Articles, news, letters to the editor from various towns will be posted as a resource for all. It has to be remembered that the economic survival of these riverside towns partly depends on the health of the river and its fish stocks.
A number of residents have moved to these riverside communities BECAUSE they still have a clean water supply. They will be obliged to move once more (the distress of some was palpable at the meeting referred to below). The tourists who come to enjoy the presently still clean water supply and river will now have to holiday overseas unless they are prepared to travel with a portable reverse osmosis system because Australia is now very close to, if not THE most fluoridated country on the planet. To set about deliberately destroying the health and livelihood of so many appears to be nothing more than utter stupidity.
Then of course we have the latest European Court of Justice ruling, see www.ukcaf.org. What this means is that foods processed in countries that have been fluoridated will no longer be welcome as imports into Europe. The negative impact of fluoridating both the river and the communities that live alongside it will be immense. The health of the citizenry will show a marked decline, mortality rates due to both cancer and heart disease will rise. That this WILL happen has been proven by the landmark studies of Drs. Burk and Yiamouyiannis.
It was precisely these research results that halted the further fluoridation of the Netherlands in the 70’s. Within a few years and after a number of court battles, the Dutch public water supply was fluoride-free. In fact, western continental Europe now has a totally fluoride-free water supply.
Finally, a little bit of history. Fluoride Free Murray was born on the 1st day of spring (01-09-09) at the Border Inn Hotel in Moama, after a successful information evening held at that venue (with a few people from other threatened communities attending as well). The result was an overwhelming consensus to stop the fluoridation of Moama.
